Coach Operators in England have been advised by The Minister for Sport, Tourism and Heritage, Nigel Huddleston that they “can and certainly should” be considered eligible to receive funding from local authorities through the Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG).
It is expected that Local Authorities ‘should be sympathetic to applications from businesses that have been impacted by COVID-19’ but are not eligible for other grants. Some Local Authorities are in the process of opening their schemes for additional lockdown grant funding.
The timeframe for availability of this funding may be short and the decision to award a coach operator ARG funding is at each Local Authority’s discretion, so it is recommended that operators keep in close touch with their Authority, checking when these schemes open and close as well as how to apply.
